      <description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;a href=&#34;https://www.flightgear.org&#34;&gt;FlightGear&lt;/a&gt; is a fully open source flight simulator started in 1996! My journey with FlightGear began as a user (flying is quite soothing once you get the hang of it), but soon transformed into a contributor role. After all, tinkering with code always takes precedence :)&lt;/p&gt;&#xA;&lt;p&gt;Early days (around 2008-2012) were contributions mainly in the form of assets, both &lt;a href=&#34;https://scenery.flightgear.org/authors/54&#34;&gt;scenery models&lt;/a&gt; and then later more complex aircraft contributions, like &lt;a href=&#34;https://wiki.flightgear.org/Airbus_A380&#34;&gt;the A380&lt;/a&gt;. Also spent some time improving the underlying terrain meshes for a few areas like &lt;a href=&#34;https://forum.flightgear.org/viewtopic.php?p=87090&#34;&gt;Qatar&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
